Art Institute Faculty Becomes First Certified Zbrush Instructor

Andrew Klein, an instructor in the Media Arts & Animation Program at The Art Institute of California - San Francisco, is the first certified instructor for Pixologic's Zbrush 3.5.

[SAN FRANCISCO, CA, October 13, 2009] -    Andrew Klein's certification number for Zbrush 3.5 is #1; he's the first Certified Instructor for Pixologic's Zbrush 3.5. In addition, Klein also holds an Autodesk Maya Certification, making him the only software instructor in North America to hold both software certifications.

The combination of the two certifications and the partnership with Pixologic places The Art Institute of California - San Francisco in a unique position to boast its software training abilities. Klein will receive direct training updates from Pixologic in Santa Monica and will be able to bring this information directly to students. In addition, Klein - as well as The Art Institute of California - San Francisco - will be displayed prominently on the Pixologic website under their list of certified instructors.

Pixologic's instructor program was designed to have certified instructors at the school level who they endorse. The certification process takes approximately two months and requires an ongoing commitment on behalf of Klein.

Zbrush is a digital sculpting and texturing package that takes a 3D model that's been built in another software package such as Maya and lets the artist paint and sculpt it, enriching the detail of what's already been created. Zbrush is currently used in many classes at The Art Institute of California - San Francisco, including Character Modeling, Advance Texturing, and Environmental Design.
