Business communications are used to increase sales. This requires that students learn to use various forms of communication to promote products, services, and organizations. In order to do this, business communication students study a wide variety of subjects. Coursework often includes classes in branding, marketing, public relations, customer service, interpersonal and corporate communications, advertising, and media relations.
Since students learn a combination of business and communications skills, they are eligible to pursue a number of careers. These careers include communication specialist, public relations assistant, media specialist, and marketing analyst.
