Over 75% of all major businesses have a presence of the World Wide Web. These Web sites may be commercial, informational, or a combination of both. In addition, most all were produced by Web development professionals. A Web developer designs sites for businesses and individuals, and in some cases oversee daily maintenance and upgrades.
A degree in Web development teaches students how to create content; program interactive and security features; implement the necessary software; and test the site for efficiency and error. Upon graduation, students are eligible for positions as Web administrators, Web designers, Webmasters, Web publishers, Web programmers, Web interface designers, or Web application developer.
