A degree in health services prepares students for operational and managerial positions in healthcare settings. Like many other areas of the healthcare industry, graduates are in high demand. According to the Department of Labor, there are nearly 520,000 health care establishments in the United States, most of which will require additional staffing in the coming years. This includes hospitals, doctors, dentists, assisted living communities, home health care organizations, outpatient care centers, and many others.
Students interested in a health services career have a number of options. They have the choice of enrolling in a health services certificate program or earning an associate or bachelor’s degree. In addition, students are able to choose which branch of healthcare they want to pursue, and whether they would like to earn their degree at a traditional college or online.
