Engineers have been described as makers of history. They use computers to design, simulate, and test new processes and operations, in order to improve efficiency. There are many types of engineers, all with different goals and methodology. For instance, computer engineers look for new ways to improve our daily standard of living, while civil engineers build everything from tunnels to airports. Other types of engineers include chemical, mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing systems.
Engineering students have the choice of enrolling in a certification program or pursuing an associate, bachelors or master’s degree. Engineering requires a strong background in mathematics and science. In addition, a degree in engineering helps students develop a full range of research, analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
