A criminal justice degree prepares students for a career in the field of law enforcement. Graduates may work for police or sheriff departments, private investigation agencies, Homeland Security, corrections and juvenile justice facilities, probation and parole offices, and corporate loss prevention programs.
Criminal justice students at the associate, undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate degree levels study a variety of legal issues. These include law enforcement operations, the judiciary system, correctional institutions, investigation procedures, parole, and victim counseling. In addition, a degree in criminal justice also gives prospective law students a complimentary educational foundation.
