Political scientists research and study various forms of government to ascertain which have been successful and why. They compare cultures, political organizations, laws and leaders to determine historical evolution. They then use this information to develop new ideas based on methods that have succeeded in the past.
A degree in political science gives students a solid foundation in history, politics, public opinion, and human behavior. Students have the option of earning an associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate degree. They also have the choice of attending a traditional college or university or taking classes online. Upon graduation, political science majors often hold positions in education, government, law, politics, and business.
