Degree Modes
A public safety degree prepares students for a career in emergency services, police and fire department administration, Homeland Security, disaster relief, and law enforcement. Students are instructed on the use of strategic planning in those critical moments after a terrorist attack or natural disaster. Many programs also include classes in business administration, fiscal management, human resources, public relations, critical incident management, and terrorism preparedness.
This degree program allows students to combine hands-on training and specialized instruction to focus on particular areas of interest. Students can earn a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate in public safety by studying either in the classroom or online. They may also increase their existing skills and marketability by earning a Terrorism and National Security Management Certificate.
